Introduction
- Navigating the handy features of CarPlay, Apple's renowned in-car system, enhances the driving experience for iPhone users worldwide. Among its various functionalities, it provides direct access to your calendar for ease of managing schedules on the go. However, there may come a time when you wish to declutter or prioritize other apps on your CarPlay screen. This blog post delves into the straightforward process of removing your calendar from CarPlay, providing you with a cleaner interface tailored to your needs.
Understanding CarPlay and Its Customization Capabilities
- Apple CarPlay is a smart, safe way to use your iPhone while driving. By mirroring your phone's key functions on the car's display, it allows for easy navigation, communication, and entertainment, without sacrificing safety. Notably, CarPlay offers customization options to ensure that the interface fits your preferences and priorities. This includes the ability to add or remove specific features such as your calendar. Whether it’s to streamline the display or prevent driving distractions, customizing your CarPlay to suit your unique needs is a breeze.
Step-by-Step Guide to Remove Calendar from CarPlay
- The process to remove your calendar from CarPlay is simple and can be achieved in just a few steps. Start by accessing 'Settings' on your iPhone, then navigate to 'General' followed by 'CarPlay'. Select your vehicle to reveal the current array of apps displayed on your CarPlay screen. Here, you’ll find the option to organize or remove apps. To remove the calendar, simply press the '-' icon beside it. Confirm your action, and just like that, your calendar will be removed from CarPlay. This action can be reversed at any time by adding the calendar back using the '+' sign in the ‘Customize’ section.
Additional Tips for Optimizing Your CarPlay Experience
- While removing the calendar from CarPlay can declutter your interface, consider other ways to optimize your driving experience. Experiment with the arrangement of apps, prioritize those you use most, and explore new updates that Apple frequently adds to the CarPlay system. Remember, the best setup is one that enhances your safety and convenience on the road. Customizing your CarPlay allows you to achieve just that, making every journey more enjoyable.

This doesn’t work. My iPhone calendar events still shows up as a widget on the CarPlay home screen. It’s rather annoying. Apple really needs to fix this!

Same. I’ve removed it twice from the CarPlay app and it still shows up on my dash! Wtf Apple.
